1. Good morning and welcome to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
2. I hope you enjoyed the tour.
3. Part of our vision at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is to further the public interest by foster-
ing a sound economy and a stable financial system.
4. The work you do— encouraging economic development and re-development at the community
level— plays an important part in fostering a sound economy.
5. This sustained effort on your part is very important and is especially noteworthy because the
Economic Development Corporation of Park Ridge is a not-for-profit volunteer organization.
6. We at the Fed work with local bank and community organizations through our Consumer and
Community Affairs Department. Our staff is here today to talk with you about our role in that eco-
nomic development.
7. I hope that today’s tour and roundtable discussion is helpful in your work. Thank you for coming
today.
