Monday, May 13, 1996 at 11 :00 AM Federal Reserve Plaza or gallery in case of rain CATHY MINEHAN'S OPENING REMARKS: Welcome to our opening ceremony in honor of the Boston Public School students who created the artwork murals that are installed on the fencing behind us. Before we uncover them, I want to express my pleasure in being able to celebrate the collaborative efforts of the Central Artery Project team and the students and teachers of our three partnership schools--Oliver _.----, Wendell Holmes El~entary School, Dearborn Middle School, and South Boston High School. Working with Boston artist Shannon Flattery during the winter months, the students --whose ages range fron@ -17- - d ecorated these panels - with their own illustrations of nature and technology. As you'll see, . they've created some very clever interpretations of nature on these panels as well as some great futuristic vehicles! We at the Boston Fed are proud of the work we are doing with the Boston Public Schools. And today, we're proud of these students and all their hard work and are very pleased that their artwork has transformed our Plaza into such a colorful art exhibit that will be sure to brighten our days! Congratulations to all of you! Joining me today in our celebration are Jim Kerasiotes, Secretary of Transportation, and Peter Zuk, Central Artery Project Director. And now it is my pleasure to introduce Jim Kerasiotes. JIM'S BRIEF REMARKS who then introduce Peter Zuk. After Peter Zuk's brief remarks, Cathy, Jim, and Peter wait for the unveiling by City Year students.
