July 16, 2015 Federal Reserve Board announces approval of application by Cathay General Bancorp For release at 5:00 p.m. EDT Share The Federal Reserve Board on Thursday announced its approval of the application under section 3 of the Bank Holding Company Act by Cathay General Bancorp, Los Angeles, California, to acquire Asia Bancshares, Inc., and thereby indirectly acquire its wholly owned subsidiary, Asia Bank, National Association, both of Flushing, New York.
