November 14, 2012 Federal Reserve Board announces its approval of the application by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc., The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., and UnionBanCal Corporation For immediate release Share The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday announced its approval of the application by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc., The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., both of Tokyo, Japan, and UnionBanCal Corporation (UnionBanCal), San Francisco, California, to (1) acquire Pacific Capital Bancorp (PCB) and its subsidiary bank, Santa Barbara Bank Trust, N.A., both of Santa Barbara, California, and (2) merge PCB with UnionBanCal.
