December 15, 2008 Approval of proposal by The PNC Financial Services Group For immediate release Share The Federal Reserve Board on Monday announced its approval of the application under section 3 of the Bank Holding Company Act by The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to acquire all the voting shares of National City Corporation ("National City") and thereby indirectly acquire National City's subsidiary bank, National City Bank, both of Cleveland, Ohio. Attached is the Board's Order relating to this action. Attachment
