April 15, 2008 Approval of proposal by Fifth Third Bancorp For immediate release Share The Federal Reserve Board on Tuesday announced its approval of the proposal by Fifth Third Bancorp, Cincinnati, Ohio, to acquire First Charter Corporation and its subsidiary bank, First Charter Bank, both of Charlotte, North Carolina.
