November 08, 2006 Approval of proposal by Capital One Financial Corporation For immediate release Share The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday announced its approval of the proposal by Capital One Financial Corporation, McLean, Virginia, to acquire North Fork Bancorporation, Inc., Melville, and its subsidiaries, North Fork Bank, Mattituck, both of New York, and Superior Savings of New England, National Association, Branford, Connecticut.
